Grow Your Own: Vegetables, Fruit & Herbs

Whether you are just starting to grow vegetables, fruit and/or herbs, or have planted before and not been happy with the results, this class will provide the information needed to have a successful gardening season. We will cover the basics of organic gardening including site selection, soil fertility, seeds and transplants, planning the garden season and pest and disease strategies. Designing gardens to use space efficiently so you can enjoy the process as well as the fruits of your labors will be covered as well. Take home a planting calendar and resources for this area.
Instructor: Wendy Krupnick has been growing vegetables, fruit & herbs for 40 years. She was senior horticultural advisor for Shepherd’s Garden Seed Company, worked on several organic farms and garden projects, coordinated the market garden at SRJC’s Shone Farm and is Adjunct Faculty in Sustainable Agriculture.
