Ya-Ka-Ama Community Garden

The mission of the Community Garden at Ya-Ka-Ama is to provide a Native American land resource for health promotion through sustainable agriculture, physical exercise, culturally relevant activities and a forum for community education of these activities. Through ceremony and regular events, the garden will be a place for a continuity of traditional values and knowledge to be shared from elders to youth and the whole community. We work with and educate families, schools and our tribal community about the positive benefits of choosing sustainable ways of eating, gardening and living by providing programs that support nutrition education, our local foodshed, school and community gardens and sustainable living practices.
