On the back (Eastern) side of Fitch Mtn. we get lots of shade and lots of deer!  I've finally realized we can grow in containers on the sunny deck, protected from deer (by Wolfie, the wimpy guard dog), and choosing lots of shade lovers, i.e. letuces, greens, greens, greens!
