School Street Farm
We are developing several area for gardens. Our largest, currently, is being planted with potatoes, squash, onions, garlic, strawberries, peas, carrots, etc. As the weather clears and the soil dries up a bit we are slowly expanding/developing this garden. We also have cool season crops going: broccoli, brussels sprouts, lettuce, radish, etc.
We have a protected hoophouse that has a "salsa garden" growing that was started earlier in the season (March): tomatoes, peppers (various), cilantro, tomotilla, onions, and some flowers. They love the warmth the shelter provides and are growing quite nicely.
Using remay fabric to protect some of our early plantings. Have 500 seedlings started but will not have room to plant them all... :( We utilize livestock manure in our compost piles & chickens to eat bugs, etc.
We are planning a large corn, sorghum, sunflower, forage crops (for livestock: beef & dairy cows, chickens, turkeys, pigs, etc) areas.
Currently using electric net fencing for some above ground protection and trapping our very hungry gophers!!!
