Rincon Valley Patch

We have planted fruit trees (pomegranate, lime, orange, lemon, and apricot) and are presently trying to figure out how to set up a garden area where the deer and the hares don't come in to nibble off the tasty tips and flowers of pepper plants. We also have an herb garden with rosemary and various types of thyme, sage, basil, peppermint, pineapple mint, lavender and borage (which started spontaneously). Our tomatoes are planted throughout our overall ornamental garden -- we have found this tends to protect them from our night-time browsers.

We have blackberry and boysenberry plants.

We also have native Digger Pines that provide us pine nuts -- although usually the squirrels get first pick!

One challenge continues to be how to best amend the rocky clay soil.
