We are establishing a Permaculture food forest on a 6,000 square foot urban lot. Each year we add more perennial food crops. We keep chickens, ducks, honeybees and one earnest rabbit. All of the 'livestock' contribute to the garden. We grow many varieties of blackberries, raspberries, cherries, apples, grapes, plums, pears, citrus, guavas, figs, currents, and gooseberries. Much of the food we consume is grown onsite. We grow many of our own medicinal plants as well. For most of the year our garden is irrigated with rainwater we collect from our roof and send through our small duck pond where it gathers 'duckilizer' before being used in the garden.
