When I moved in the house last fall, there were only weeds and patchy lawn in the front and back yard. I wanted to save water in the long run and took out all the lawn in the front and replaced it with drought tolerant plants. My kids and I build three raised beds for vegetables in the back yard. The rest of the backyard is slowly being remodeled  section by section, mostly with drought-tolerant plants and grasses as well. No lawn is left. I would like to add different mosaics to my garden over the next months.
