this is a TINY super experimantal Garden at a still forming
Art and Garden School in Sebasopol's Green Valley Village
this community has at least 6 gardens and a C>S>A> farm of several acres already.
If they have not registered already I know they want to
they will be expanding by about 20% this spring and adding several clothes lines as well
and working on designs for two Laundry to landscape gray water systems.
what is unique about MY small experimental plot is that it is grown
on an 8" compacted gravel bed with NO SOIL
That's right this is a mulch bed COMPOST garden, Compost is is used in bottemless
pots with mulch as an aquifer,and a very small amount of parent soil in the mix
perhaps 5 gallons for every 15 square feet.
It is extremly thrifty on water use,and could be done in an asphault parking lot.
the borders can be made with earth bags,requiring no wood,and LOT'S of fun human energy.
I will be planting Cruciferous vegetables such as Kale and collards, and Strawberries.
I am interested in any possible donations of MULCH products,or any small plant starts as my income is restricted to well below poverty level.
I am offering worm compost to anyone interested who contacts me.
