Food For Thought Garden

The Food For Thought Garden serves the clients of Food For Thought Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank. The gardens grow seasonal organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers; surround the food bank with a beautiful, healing and welcoming environment; offer opportunities for clients to garden and connect with nature; present a hands-on approach to learning about the links between food, nutrition, and well-being; provide a place for respite and gathering; and extend the food bank's work of feeding, nurturing, informing, inspiring, and supporting people living with HIV/AIDS.

The site includes diverse annual vegetable gardens, a demonstration garden with culinary and medicinal herbs, bird and butterfly attracting perennials, fruit orchards, and a productive composting and vermiculture (worm farming) program.

The Food For Thought Garden is a collaborative project of Food For Thought Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank and Occidental Arts and Ecology Center.
