FACT (Forensic Assertive Community Treatment) is a collaborative program between Sonoma County Department of Health Services and the Probation Department. Buckelew is a community partner and provides supported housing. Clients served by FACT includes people with serious and persisntent mental health disorders who are also on probation for a misdemeanor. FACT provides individual and group counseling, psychiatric medication evaluation and monitoring, groups and case management aimed at coping with mental health symptoms and moving forward towards school or work. Treatment is provided for clients facing substance abuse disorders. A full time probation officer is part of the FACT team. Clients attend Mental Health Court on a regular basis in order to monitor their progress, cheer their successes and provide feedback from the courts.
The FACT garden is located at the clinic on Professional Drive. Clients and staff have planted tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, strawberries, peas and a variety of flowers. As the garden expands,clients will increasingly be able to use the produce to create free, healthy meals.
