DB's Cotati Home Garden

Spring and Summer vegetable garden planted in raised beds (gophers) consistingi of our family's (mostly) favorite items. We always have tomatoes, squash (yellow, patty pan, zukes), peppers (hot & sweet) cucumbers (lemon, pickling and green slicing), carrots, artichokes (year round), pumpkins, gourds, blueberries, scarlet runner beans, asparagus (trying), potatoes (red) and onions (red, yellow).  We've planted our backyard garden for the past 20 of total 27 years we've lived here without use of commercial fertilizers.  We do use compost and mulch; do not claim to be "organic" or pesticide free but strive to avoid use of chemicals when we can. We also maintain a variety of fruit trees that give us apricots, peaches, nectarines, apples, plums and pears. With mixed success we try to cultivate asparagus, citrus tree crops and blueberries.  Oh, and always, roses, zinnias, marigolds, camelias, magnolia (tulip) trees and other flowering shrubs keep us busy outdoors all year.
