Beekeeping
Submitted by Sonoma_Ecology on January 16, 2012 - 12:20pm
Learn the benefits of keeping bees in a garden and how to harvest
their surplus honey. This class will give an overview of how a bee
colony operates, the importance of bee pollination to agriculture, the
equipment needed to keep bees, and the duties of the beekeeper. A honey
tasting to appreciate the taste and quality of honey produced without
pesticides will conclude the seminar. Bill Weibalk and Will Ackley, both dedicated local bee keepers, who
currently manage several active hives at Sonoma Garden Park, will
facilitate the workshop. $10 SEC Members, $15 Non-Members
